About

A designer deeply interested in the relationship between ideas, the ways they take shape, and the human experiences they become. Whether I’m working with digital systems or clay, the process of exploration and refinement is as important to me as what I create.

A little more about me

I’m Rachel, a designer, artist, and enthusiastic maker of things based in Austin, Texas. I’m drawn to the process of turning ideas into something tangible, and to the small decisions along the way that shape how the finished thing looks, works, and feels.

When I’m not designing, I’m probably making ceramics, two-stepping somewhere around Austin, antiquing, or baking. I believe a creative life is spent continuously learning and growing; the things I do away from the screen tend to keep challenging me in new ways, and inevitably find their way back into the way I approach design.

Ceramics

Ceramics and UX design have become deeply connected parts of my creative practice. Moving between them continually shifts my perspective, and I’ve found that both are grounded in curiosity, iteration, and thoughtful problem-solving.

Whether I’m working with the physical properties of clay or the needs of the people I’m designing for, each practice asks me to work within constraints, explore the relationship between form and function, and use those limitations as opportunities to create something intentional and meaningful.
